My husband and I recently got married at Mount Ophir - their first wedding, it turns out! Whether you're looking for a event space or just somewhere REALLY nice to stay for the weekend, we would both highly recommend Mount Ophir! Our wedding involved booking out the whole property for us and our 130 guests for our wedding weekend - we had the accommodation full of our immediate family and set up a glamping village of 34 tents for the rest! We used Mount Ophir's two main halls for our reception and the other events we had over the course of the weekend.First, the team at Mount Ophir is absolutely incredible to deal with. Our main point of contact, Jodie, was amazingly professional, attentive and organised and made the whole process very simple to organise. We also met many of the maintenance and events staff at Mount Ophir who were just as helpful. Most importantly though, everyone at Mount Ophir are just really nice and genuine people and make it an absolute pleasure to work with them. We also had the pleasure of meeting Mount Ophir's owners, Eliza and Nick, who were just as incredible - so attentive, accommodating and genuine. As for the property, it is simply second to none. Absolutely every part of it left us speechless. The main building is full of amazing brick halls that clearly have so much history - we barely had any decorations for the weekend because of how beautiful the building was! It is also full of so many incredibly cool and nice markers of its long history that added a really nice added touch to the experience. The accommodation is also absolutely breathtaking. They have done some amazing work restoring and renovating the old workers' accommodation on site. We stayed in the Tower , which is the nicest accommodation we have EVER stayed in. Mount Ophir has also gone to incredible lengths to maintain the connection between the property and its history - one of my favourite touches was the old Burgoynes wine advertising sign sitting on one of the bookshelves on the second floor. Our second favourite of the accommodation was the Residence, which again obviously has so much history to it that it adds a really nice touch. The lounge room in particular has the most incredible fire place and chandelier...!There is so much more that we could write about Mount Ophir, but it all really comes down to this: there is absolutely no doubt that having our wedding made it the most amazing experience of our lives. Eliza and Nick have an amazing property and an even more amazing team working with them, and we would very highly recommend giving them a call.
